Today is D-Day…

for Malaysia.

We shall see how the Opposition fares against the Coalition Government this time.

My speculations:

At least a 20 seat swing towards the Opposition. DAP to seize multiple Parliamentary seats in Penang, Perak, KL, Malacca and Sarawak. PAS will probably hold onto Kelantan and may just make some inroads into Terengganu and the norhtern states of Kedah and Perlis. PKR will win probably just 1 or 2 more seats than previously.

BN will keep 2/3 majority…but the next 5 years after this election will be interesting times. UMNO has enough on their hands controlling the rival factions within their organization. The component parties of BN will perhaps suffer the most from this election’s setback (if it happens, that is). The Opposition will continue to stay relevant in the current political atmosphere and I am sure that they will enjoy having more of their comrades in Parliament. Will Malaysia finally make strides forward in terms of political progress? We shall see…the voters of Malaysia (and of course, election rigging) will decide!
